The truth about drugs
Parents need to know as much as their children do about drugs and talk openly about the risks.
Why do young people take drugs?
The truth is, most young people don’t.
All drug use can have an effect on health, relationships and personal safety. However, for a minority of people, drug use takes over and disrupts their life and becomes a problem.
What can parents do?
If you want to talk to your child about drugs, you need to take a balanced approach and remember– getting the right information is everything.
Your Community Pharmacy will have these useful information booklets:
FRANK. The truth about Drugs – Know the score - which explains the truth about the effects of drugs and where they stand in relation to the law and :
FRANK. All about Drugs – Does your child know more than you?
West Kent PCT has a range of services to help anyone who is having a problem with drugs.
These are the places you can call to get help.
