Gravesham Community Hospital and Gravesham Place
A state-of-art health and social care centre which brings together NHS and social services to improve care for patients.
The hospital, run by West Kent PCT, has inpatient beds, outpatient clinics and a minor injuries unit.
Kent Adult Social Services run Gravesham Place, a residential home which also offers short-term care for older people, and the day centre.

- Onsite parking (pay at machine in hospital) or at other carparks in Gravesend.
- Buses 480, 490 from Dartford, 306, 308, 309, from Swanscombe and rural areas.
- Fastrack route B
- A short walk from Gravesend railway station.
- Visiting times: 2pm - 4.30pm, and 6pm - 8pm.
- No visiting at mealtimes as a general rule because of the importance of good nutrition in patients' recovery.
- If patients prefer to be assisted with eating or physiotherapy by a family member there may be flexibility on visiting times. Please discuss with the ward sister.
Inpatient services on Sapphire wing:
- Specialist care of patients with a neurological condition such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, stroke, head injury.
- The highly skilled and experienced nurse-led team specialise in supporting patients' rehabilitation.
Outpatient clinics
- Child behaviour, BCG Clinic, ENT, retinal eye screening, school nurse hearing screening, psychiatric, orthopaedic & rheumatology treatment clinic, fracture clinic, family planning, smoking cessation, young persons' clinic, ultrasound, vascular, cardiac rehab, physiotherapy.

Open 8am - 8pm 365 days a year
X-ray open 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday
The MIU can treat conditions including:
- cuts and grazes that might need cleaning, stitching or dressing
- animal bites or scratches, insect stings
- strains and sprains
- a suspected broken bone in arm or lower leg
- minor burns and scalds
- minor eye infections and scratches
- foreign body in eye, nose or ear
Who will I see?
An Emergency Nurse Practitioner who is qualified to diagnose and treat these conditions.

- Access point for needle exchange, Chlamydia screening and the morning after pill.
Gravesham Place
A care home run by Kent Adult Social Services, Gravesham Place offers residential care and intermediate care, for people recovering from illness or injury.
Day Centre
The day centre specialises in building up people's confidence and independence as they recover from illness or injury. It also offers specialist sessions for people with dementia.
